Burys Court School
Burys Court is in a beautiful Victorian mansion providing nursery, pre-prep and preparatory education for 2-13 year old children. The school has been revitalised following its acquisition by the Moon Hall School charitable foundation in 2005.
In an idyllic countryside setting a few minutes drive from Reigate in Surrey, our extensive grounds include a bluebell wood, a walled garden and an orchard, as well as sports fields and lawned areas.
In the summer 2005, the Governors and staff installed a state-of-the-art computer suite and a new, fully equipped Design Technology room. At the same time, the heritage of this beautiful building has been respected and its original features have been maintained.
An important added extra is the Moon Hall Phoenix Dyslexia Centre. Drawing on Moon Hall School's 21 years of expertise in helping dyslexic pupils, the Phoenix Centre supports the school's dyslexic children in small groups using specific teaching methods throughout the curriculum. Although the pupils may spend more time on developing their literacy and numeracy, there is no subject that is neglected as a result.
From September 2006, the school is being extended up the age range with the creation of Moon Hall College, dedicated to the education of dyslexic teenagers (and others who wish to benefit from small classes and individual attention) up to and including GCSE. All Burys Court students have the choice whether or not to join Moon Hall College when they have completed their education at Burys Court.
